Sweet tomato chutney

Chutneys are very essential to many Indian households, served as the taste enhancer with some of the breakfast dishes and snacks.
Tomato chutney recipe is one of them and is made up of ripe tomatoes and basic spices which are easily available in every kitchen.

Sharing the recipe:
This recipe serves for 4.

Ingredients:

-3 medium tomatoes chopped
-1/4  tsp fennel seeds
-1/4 tsp methi seeds
-1/4 tsp cumin seeds
-1/4 tsp black mustard seeds
-a pinch asfoetida
-1/2 tsp turmeric powder
-1/2 tsp salt
-1 tbsp sugar/ jaggery powder
-1/2 tbsp mustard oil
-1/2 cup water



Method:

-heat oil in a kadahi, add all dry spices, add tomatoes, salt and turmeric powder, cook covered for 4-5 minutes.
-when tomatoes become soft, mash with spoon in kadahi itself, add sugar/jaggery powder, add water, boil for 2 minutes.

Take out in a bowl and serve with kachauris, parathas, or any other snacks with which it goes well.
