Whole wheat cake - shrimal
#valentinehomemadecake#
There are different ways people celebrate Valentine's day showing appreciation for the people they love.
I made my special ❤️ day with a very special cake, as this is the very first cake I had eaten and tried my hands in baking with. I remember, We didn't have a single cake shop at our hometown neither we would get all the ingredients to make a fancy cake at home. So, my mother used to bake this very simple yet awesome cake on every occasions like birthdays, anniversaries or new year and we would just decorate applying cream and garnish with dry fruits to make it look awesome named as shrimal.
I am sharing the recipe here:
Recipe:
Ingredients:
-1 cup whole wheat flour
-3/4 cup powdered sugar
-3/4 tsp salt
-3/4 tsp baking powder
-1/2 tsp baking soda
-3/4 cup melted ghee
-1/2 cup milk
-4-5 cashews and green pista crushed
Method:
-sieve aata, salt, baking powder, baking soda in a plate ( do it twice so that soda and baking powder mix well with the flour)
-add powdered sugar and ghee in a bowl, mix well
-add wheat flour mix in two batches into the above and continue whipping in one direction adding milk gradually, do it till you see the net kind of formation on the sides of the bowl
-grease your cake tin applying ghee on it.
-pour the batter into the tin, garnish with dry fruits on top and adjust the batter a little so that air bubbles are released
-preheat your oven
-bake for 30 minutes, after that, check it with the help of a toothpick whether it is perfectly baked or not.
Let it cool and then take out in a plate, cut into slices and serve.
