For me, breakfast is not just cooking and preparing food but it's about serving the joy, happiness and love to my family. So, what can be better than this to start your morning.
Today I am sharing a very quick and simple recipe of salad sandwich which is quite popular in India and is a breakfast in many households.
It's my personal favourite and I do it very frequently specially whenever I am around kids.
My nieces and nephews love it and a "WoW" complement makes my day.

Recipe: serves 4 sandwiches
Ingredients:
- 8 bread slices
- 1 large boiled potato crushed
- 1 medium size onion- thinly chopped
- 1 medium size tomato- thinly chopped
- 1 small size carrot- grated
- 1 small size cucumber- thinly chopped
- 1/2 inch ginger grated
- 1/2 tsp lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp jeera powder
- 1/2 tsp black pepper powder
- 1/2 tsp black salt powder
- 1/2 tsp chat masala
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
- 1 tsp finely chopped coriander leaves
- Mayonnaise(optional) I do not prefer.
- Butter or ghee for cooking.
Method:
- Mix well all the ingredients in a bowl.
- Apply butter on both sides of bread slices
- Top up with the fillings.
- Grill it in the sandwich maker.
Serve this chatpata sandwich with green chutney.
- Tips: Try to use freshly crushed spice powder for better taste.
