Aloo tikki chaat

Our day starts with the thought of food.  Thinking what to prepare and how while rummaging  through the vegetable basket and finally come  up with a dish , everyday ritual for most of us.
Plus, if it's a special day, it becomes harder.
Valentine's day is around the corner. So, have you yet decided how to make it special!  Remember,
It has also been said that the way to a man's heart is through his stomach.

So, what else can be better idea than this to celebrate the special day with tangy aalu tikki chaat!

Sharing the recipe :
To make aloo tikki chaat we need-

-8-10 boiled potatoes mashed smoothly
-1 and 1/2 cups white peas- washed and soaked overnight
-1tsp of cumin and methi seeds
-1tsp of turmeric powder
-1/2 tsp coriander powder
-2 cups water
-1 and 1/2 cups curd Whisked with 1/2 tsp salt
-1 cup Sweet Tamarind Chutney(soak tamrind for 20 min strain and boil till it becomes thick, add jaggery powder, salt jeera powder and red chilli powder)
-1/2 cup Green coriander Chutney
-1 tbsp Mustard oil
-1 tsp roasted Cumin Powder
-1 tsp Black salt
-1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
-1 tsp Chaat Masala Powder
-1 small onion - finely chopped
-1 medium carrot- grated
-1 medium radish- grated
-Thin bhujiya sev
-Fresh coriander leaves- finely chopped

Method:
To make aloo tikki

-mash boil potatoes smoothly, add little salt, cumin powder, black salt, red chilli powder, Chaat masala, and 4-5 drops of mustard oil.
-mix well ,make round shape balls, flatten it and fry it on tawa till golden brown.
And tikkis are ready.

To make chhola:

-Heat remaining mustard oil in a pressure cooker, add cumin and methi seeds,let it crackle.
- Add white peas mix and saute for 2-3 minutes.
-Add  coriander , Turmeric powder, 2 cups water and salt, wait for 2-3 whistles on medium flame.
- Once pressure is removed, check if it's too thick, you can add warm water and boil for 2 minutes.

Your chhola is ready.
Now ,
-Put tikkis on a plate.
-Pour chhola over it.
-Top up with tamrind chutney, green chutney and curd.
- Sprinkle spice powders.
- Garnish with onion, Carrot, radish ,Bhujiya sev and coriander leaves.

 Serve immediately.
